ICYMI: I’m the president-elect for the national Society of Professional Journalists board. It’s exciting (read: daunting), but a task I’ve spent my entire career working up the ladder toward.
Initiatives I want my presidency to focus on include student journalist initiatives, working with newsroom unions, advocacy and Code of Ethics programs and beefed up collabs with new media journalists.
The deadline to apply to run for this year’s board is Saturday.
