Lucy Dacus loves this Philly museum and where to get $1 vending machine art
She's a big art girly.
Hey y’all!
Wishing a happy April and hoping no one fell for a tragic April Fool’s Day post (if you did though, please share it with me). I loved this one from Maldon and desperately wish this one from Liquid IV was real. An honorable mention goes to the band Beach Bunny (who you should listen to if you don’t already) for scaring followers into thinking a name change was imminent.

The cherry blossoms are everywhere in Philly these days and the temps are above 40°, so your girl is mostly thriving.
Here for our latest installment of Bloch Party and life, Mark and I have been attending a bunch of shows and eating our way through the city.
This week marks the Philadelphia Chef’s Conference, meaning we have a million hard decisions to make over which special collab dinners to attend.
On deck so far is a night at Irwin’s working with Miami’s Tâm Tâm and a special Noma demo at Vetri Cucina. We are both v excited. I promise to post many pictures.
Exciting things I’ve written lately - Art Vending Machines!
Artists like Anastasia Inciardi make their work accessible and collectible by throwing it in refurbished sticker vending machines. Philly is no exception with locals like Fabiola Lara following suit.
I wrote about how cool art only has to cost four quarters in some of the trendiest cities across the country. You can read the whole story here. My colleague and pal, Esra Erol also made this adorable video documenting our art crawl. You can watch it here. Finally, I also made this regularly updated map of all the vending machine art in Philly! Bodie on South Street just got a new machine!
Note: If you’re one of my lovely followers who is not in Philly, there isn’t to my knowledge a map of every vending machine from every artist, but Anastasia Inciardi, who is likely the most widespread with her prints, has a nationwide location finder here.

The Lucy Dacus of it all
On her media tour supporting her new album, Forever Is a Feeling, Lucy Dacus revealed that museums — particularly Philly’s Barnes Foundation — played a key role in her songwriting process.
I dig into Lucy’s ties to Philly and her repeated shoutouts for the Philly institution — including bringing her freshly confirmed but long rumored girlfriend Julien Baker there for her birthday 🥹🥹🥹 Read the full story here.
And now, a note from our sponsors (sort of)
I’m re-upping these promo codes for a couple of brands I adore and believe in.
🎀 Room Shop 🎀
If you’re not familiar with this boutique shop, you should be. The cuties behind these silky bows, purses, and rosettes — as seen worn by my media peer Calla Kessler at the literal Met Gala — were gracious enough to give me a code for your future shopping endeavors. They have some exceptionally cute Spring accessories right now, including phone wristlets and this high key Jaguars coded headscarf.
You can use EMDRUMS10 or visit this link for 10% off your whole order — they don’t do sales often so this is exciting! If you’re in Philly you can do local pickup from one of their incredibly Y2K decorated lockers. These are perfect white elephant gifts.
💧 Liquid IV 💧
Fuel up with my fave electrolyte bevvy just in time for the warm months. I’ve been really intro grapefruit and pina colada flavors these days. I first linked up with LIV years back when I discovered I was always dehydrated and used their product on the go to help with headaches. I’m much better at hydrating now, but I still rely on this stuff for post-workout, beach days, heat waves, etc. They’ve also been kind enough to send samples for Lady Skate Day camps and other endeavors. No auto-link right now, so make sure to manually enter EMDRUMS for 20% off (and sometimes free shipping).
